What are Skill Games?
Online skill games were established in order for people to show off their talents at certain games online which required skill as opposed to games which require luck only. There are many types of skill games available and a lot of websites allow people to compete against each other for money. It is not gambling as it is a competition between two people with the same type of skill. Skill games can be arcade games, puzzle games, word games and trivia games. Puzzle games are based on logic and the ability to work out and solve puzzles sometimes based on a time limit. Arcade games are like quicker versions of puzzle games where the game can get faster and faster and requires a quick response. Word games are like puzzle games except that they use word problems and require the player to think on a different level. Trivia games are simply questions of general knowledge or else questions that are specific to a certain genre.
Skill games should be based on chance as little as possible and this is why many games are adjusted in order to be completely based on skill. These games are generally played head to head and on a tournament basis so that the outcome of each match is based on whoever has played with the highest level of skill. Some online skills games can be played for free against other people with the same interest while there are many sites that play for money. People usually take part in a tournament type of event and the person who gets through all the rounds and wins the final generally takes home the prize although there may be a skills game league and the top few winners are awarded with various prize monies.
Skill games are generally easy to play but difficult to master and a lot of players that take part in competitions invest a lot of hours into developing expert levels of skills in these games. This can be time-consuming and many people do not view skills at gaming to be a money making possibility but the various skills games competitions are slowly changing this view as more and more people are supplementing their income and even making a living by competing in events involving skills games.
